ASU’s Hanoi agreement links semiconductor education to public and industry partners

On March 5, ASU and Hanoi’s People’s Committee announced a five-year MOU on semiconductor and microelectronics education, research and workforce development. It includes exploring a university at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, powered by ASU and operated by Cintana Education through a public-private partnership; the MOU is non-binding and creates no legal or financial obligations.

Why it matters: You can bring academic capability, a city counterpart and industry needs into one project discussion. Use the technical problem to decide which faculty, equipment and training capacity your Vietnamese counterpart needs. The university proposal remains exploratory.

If you're considering something similar:

  • Define the technical problem and academic work you can contribute
  • Agree who funds and hosts the work and covers faculty effort
  • Confirm authorization, financing and equipment access before promising delivery
