Open Doors 2025, released November 17, counted 25,584 Vietnamese students in the US in 2024/25, up from 22,066 in 2023/24. That is a 15.9% increase, rounded to 16%, and puts Vietnam fifth among international student origins.

Why it matters: You have a stronger national baseline for testing your own Vietnam recruitment results. Compare inquiries, admissions and enrollment with that growth before increasing your targets or budget. The figures describe 2024/25, so use current campus applications, deposits and arrivals to judge what is happening now.

If you're considering something similar:

  • Compare your Vietnam results with the same reporting year
  • Test program fit and total student cost with your admissions team
  • Assign an owner to follow qualified applicants through to enrollment
