Vietnam tops undergraduate outreach priorities in IIE’s fall snapshot

IIE’s Fall 2025 Snapshot, released November 17, listed Vietnam first for undergraduate outreach priorities at 55% and second for graduate recruitment at 32%, behind India at 57%. The report drew responses from more than 825 US higher education institutions.

Why it matters: You need a clear reason for Vietnamese applicants to choose your institution when other campuses are also making the market a priority. Build that reason around program fit, total cost and academic support, then measure the path from inquiry to arrival. These are campus recruitment priorities, not a survey of Vietnamese student preferences.

If you're considering something similar:

  • Define the programs and students your Vietnam effort will serve
  • Give travel or representation a measurable recruitment objective
  • Track qualified applications and arrivals against that objective
